First Eurovision semi-final wows 790k viewers on Tuesday

The first semi-final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest topped the multichannel ratings on Tuesday (May 19), according to overnight data.

Live coverage from Vienna brought in 790,000 viewers and a 3.9% audience share for BBC Three from 8pm.

BBC One's 24 Hours in the Past was the night's most watched programme outside of the soaps with 3.17m (15.8%) at 9pm, while The Dog Factory followed with 1.28m (13.7%) at 10.45pm.

On BBC Two, Antiques Road Trip interested 1.37m (7.5%) at 7pm, before the RHS Chelsea Flower Show was seen by 3.03m (15.1%) at 8pm, and The Detectives fascinated 1.81m (9.0%) at 9pm.

Midsomer Murders averaged 1.94m (9.7%) for ITV between 8pm and 10pm (215k/1.2% on +1).

On Channel 4, Kirsty and Phil's Love It or List It gathered 1.50m (7.5%) at 8pm (327k/1.6%), while No Offence continued with 1.45m (7.2%) at 9pm (179k/1.2%).

Channel 5's The Dog Rescuers appealed to 888k (4.4%) at 8pm (138k/0.7%), and Blinging Up Baby: You Won't Believe It! brought in 992k (5.0%) at 9pm (77k/0.5%). Big Brother continued with 1.01m (6.5%) at 10pm (69k/0.9%).

Meanwhile, E4's Empire, featuring a guest appearance from Naomi Campbell, entertained 366k (1.8%) at 9pm.
