Silent Witness tops Tuesday ratings with 6.3 million

Silent Witness was on top of the ratings pile on Tuesday, overnight data reveals.

The long-running BBC One crime drama was seen by an average audience of 6.33 million (27.3%) at 9pm. Later, Count Arthur Strong amused 1.62m (13.4%) at 10.35pm.

On BBC Two, Nature's Weirdest Events brought in 2.40m (11.4%) at 8pm, followed by Horizon with 1.81m (7.8%) at 9pm.

ITV's River Monsters interested 2.11m (9.9%) at 7.30pm (108,000/0.5% on +1), while Britain's Best Back Gardens attracted 2.05m (9.8%) at 8pm. Wonder of Britain was seen by 1.65m (7.2%) at 9pm (143k/0.9%).

On Channel 4, Weighing Up the Enemy gathered 796k (3.8%) at 8pm, followed by 24 Hours in Police Custody with 1.25m (5.4%) at 9pm (368k/2.3%). Gordon Ramsay's Hotel Hell entertained 879k (5.6%) at 10pm (144k/1.7%).

Channel 5's Secrets of the Tea Chimps fascinated 953k (4.5%) at 8pm. Celebrity Big Brother bounced to 2.13m (9.2%) at 9pm (394k/2.4%) after Ken Morley's departure. Suspects returned with 706k (4.4%) at 10pm.

On E4, The 100 continued with 648k (2.8%) at 9pm (124k/0.8%), followed by Supernatural with 253k (1.6%) at 10pm.
