Beverly Hillbillies' star Donna Douglas dies, aged 81

The Beverly Hillbillies actress Donna Douglas has died at the age of 81.



She played Elly May Clampett in the classic 1960s sitcom and passed away at her home on New Year's Day.

She died at her family home in Louisiana with family and friends alongside her.

Douglas appeared in all nine seasons of The Beverly Hillbillies as well as the 1981 TV movie.

She also starred in Mister Ed, The Twilight Zone and Route 66.
