Strictly Come Dancing tops Sunday with over 9 million

Strictly Come Dancing bounced back to top the ratings on Sunday evening, according to overnight figures.

The BBC One talent show gained around 600,000 viewers from last week, climbing to an average 9.11 million viewers (38.8%) at 7.15pm.

On ITV, The X Factor dropped around 500k viewers, falling to 7.95m (33.6%) at 8pm, with an added 251k (1.0%) on +1. ITV2's Xtra Factor entertained 643k (2.6%) at 9pm (126k/0.8% on +1).

Downton Abbey gained back over 100k from last week, with 7.48m (30.6%) tuning in at 9pm (413k/2.5%). Earlier, Sunday Night at the Palladium attracted 3.35m (15.0%) at 7pm (205k/0.8%).

Earlier on BBC One, Countryfile appealed to 6.05m (30.7%) at 6.15pm, while Antiques Roadshow brought in 5.42m (21.9%) at 8pm. Our Girl continued with 3.73m (15.1%) at 9pm, and Match of the Day 2 scored 2.35m (19.2%) at 10.35pm.

BBC Two's Human Universe was seen by 1.12m (4.9%) at 7pm, followed by Wonders of the Monsoon with 1.54m (6.2%) at 8pm and Sacred Rivers with 1.78m (7.2%) at 9pm.

On Channel 4, Secret History gathered 988k (4.0%) at 8pm (204k/0.8%), while Homeland's latest episode thrilled 1.24m (5.0%) at 9pm (173k/1.0%).

Channel 5's broadcast of Forbidden Kingdom brought in 944k (4.0%) at 7.15pm, followed by Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with 815k (4.9%) at 9pm.

On BBC Three, Family Guy amused 874k (4.5%) at 10pm.
