BBC One's live coverage of the Commonwealth Games topped Friday's ratings, peaking with 6.26 million viewers (30.2%) at 9.45pm.
The BBC's continued coverage of the athletics event entertained an average audience of 4.66 million (24.1%) from 7pm.
Approximately 1.85 million (15.5%) stuck around to watch the highlights on Tonight at the Games at 10.45pm.
The Cruise Ship was ITV's highest-rated show outside of soaps, attracting increased viewers of 3.57 million (19.1%) at 8pm.
ITV's evening continued with 2.29 million (11.3%) for Doc Martin at 9pm, while late night movie Jaws 2 was seen by 781k (8.9%) at 10.40pm.
BBC Two's evening began with 1.15 million (6.7%) for Pembrokeshire: Coastal Lives at 7pm, and continued with 1.16 million (6.2%) for Red Arrows: Inside the Bubble immediately after.
Gardeners' World attracted an increased audience of 1.59 million (7.6%) at 8.30pm, while The Secret History of Our Streets was seen by 1.43 million (7%).
Keen for yet more athletics, an average of 2.19 million (11.8%) turned over for BBC Two's Commonwealth Games coverage at 10pm.
Channel 4 welcomed two new shows, starting with 990k (4.9%) for Alan Carr's The Singer Takes it All at 9pm, followed by 900k (5.3%) for the returning Last Leg.
The Million Pound Drop was watched by 860k (4.4%) at 8pm.
The latest Big Brother eviction was seen by an average audience of 1.15 million (5.8%) on Channel 5, while 597k (4.7%) stuck around for Big Brother's Bit on the Side.
BBC Four's The Kings of Rock and Roll was one of the most popular multichannel shows, picking up an audience of 668k (4.4%) at 10.10pm.
