The 7.39 beats The Bletchley Circle in Monday drama ratings

The 7.39 came out on top in the drama ratings battle on Monday evening, according to overnight data.

The BBC One drama starring David Morrissey and Sheridan Smith was seen by 5.66 million viewers (22.6%) at 9pm. Earlier, A Question of Sport entertained 3.50m (14.0%) at 8.30pm.

ITV's returning drama series The Bletchley Circle opened to 4.11m (15.4%) at 9pm (389,000/2.2% on +1). Griff Rhys Jones's Great Welsh Adventure appealed to 3.71m (15.1%) at 8pm (169k/0.7%).

On BBC Two, University Challenge quizzed 3.13m (12.7%) at 8pm, followed by Sacred Wonders of Britain with 1.85m (7.3%) at 8.30pm.

Channel 4's new series Benefits Street attracted an impressive 3.61m (14.4%) at 9pm (695k/4.0%). Food Unwrapped's diet special brought in 1.82m (7.3%) at 8pm (222k/0.9%), and documentary Secrets of the Living Dolls interested 1.98m (11.4%) at 10pm (363k/3.9%).

On Channel 5, The Gadget Show gathered 716k (2.9%) at 8pm, followed by the latest Celebrity Big Brother with 2.08m (8.3%) at 9pm (351k/2.0%). Celebrity Wedding Planner was seen by 579k (3.3%) at 10pm.
