Ripper Street finale tops Monday with 3.7 million viewers

Ripper Street concluded its run by topping Monday evening's ratings, according to overnight data.

The BBC One drama - which was recently axed after two series - climbed by around 800,000 viewers from last week to 3.72 million (16.7%) at 9pm. Earlier, Panorama interested 3.03m (12.6%) at 8.30pm.

ITV's A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards appealed to 2.82m (13.3%) at 9pm (96k/0.6% on +1). Tales from Northumberland with Robson Green brought in 3.08m (13.1%) at 8pm (123k/0.6%).

On BBC Two, University Challenge quizzed 3.05m (12.9%) at 8pm, followed by Tom Kerridge Cooks Christmas with 2.30m (9.6%) at 8.30pm. The Choir continued with 2.47m (11.1%) at 9pm, while the series finale of Never Mind the Buzzcocks amused 1.24m (6.6%) at 10pm.

Channel 4's Crafty Christmas with Kirstie Allsopp was seen by 1.22m (5.1%) at 8pm (281k/1.3%), followed by Liberty of London with 1.73m (7.8%) at 9pm (258k/1.5%). Fresh Meat tickled 740k (4.1%) at 10pm (137k/1.3%),

On Channel 5, The Gadget Show fascinated 701k (2.9%) at 8pm. Monty Hall and the Ghost Ship of Thunder Bay brought in 629k (2.8%) at 9pm.

BBC Three's Don't Tell the Bride entertained 647k (2.9%) at 9pm, while Family Guy attracted 660k (5.6%) at 11pm.

On BBC Four, Only Connect puzzled 957k (4.0%) at 8.30pm. Sky1's Arrow thrilled 409k (1.7%) at 8pm.

E4's Made in Chelsea gathered 551k (3.2%) at 10pm (126k/1.3%). On ITV2, Peter Andre's My Life was seen by 611k (2.7%) at 9pm.
