'Great British Bake Off' up to new peak

The Great British Bake Off rose to a new peak on Tuesday night, according to overnight data.

The BBC Two series climbed by over 500,000 viewers to 5.85 million (26.9%) at 8pm. Later, The Midwives dipped to 1.71m (7.8%) at 9pm.

On BBC One, New Tricks continued to top the ratings overall, dropping slightly to 7.38m (33.5%) at 9pm.

ITV's new series Aussie Animal Island interested 2.17m (11.4%) at 7.30pm, followed by Ade Edmondson's Ade in Adland with 1.51m (6.9%) at 8pm (141k/0.6%% on +1). New documentary Trauma: Level One gathered 1.54m (6.9%) at 9pm (264k/1.6%).

On Channel 4, Double Your House for Half the Money appealed to 961k (4.4%) at 8pm (301k/1.4%). Top Boy continued with 777k (3.5%) at 9pm (135k/0.8%).

Channel 5's latest CSI: NY thrilled 1.22m (5.5%) at 9pm. Carol McGiffin's fake Celebrity Big Brother eviction attracted 1.84m (11.3%) at 10pm.

On BBC Three, Bad Education's TV premiere amused 832k (4.6%) at 10pm.

I can't recommend watching "Double Your House for Half the Money" after arriving home from work or shopping as its guaranteed to put even the most enthusiastic property developer to sleep within a few minutes!
