Agatha Christie's Poirot returned on ITV to top the ratings outside of sport on Sunday, overnight data reveals.
David Suchet's final series of the long-running crime drama opened with 4.47 million viewers at 9pm (20.0%), with a further 405,000 (2.1%) tuning in on +1.
Earlier, Ben Shephard's new series Tipping Point entertained 3.00m (15.8%) at 7pm (201k/0.9% on +1).
BBC One's coverage of the Canadian Grand Prix averaged at 4.61m (23.6%) from 6.15pm. D-Day: The Last Heroes was seen by 2.31m (10.9%) at 9pm.
On BBC Two, Peter Jones Meets... attracted 1.07m (5.6%) at 7pm, followed by Operation Snow Tiger with 2.11m (9.4%) at 8pm. New series Rise of the Continents brought in 1.70m (7.8%) at 9pm.
Channel 4's premiere of French drama The Returned secured 1.27m (5.9%) at 9pm (267k/1.7%). Terror in the Skies grabbed 1.12m (4.9%) at 8pm (231k/1.1%).
On Channel 5, Once Upon a Time continued with 801k (3.5%) at 8pm. Russell Crowe movie The Next Three Days thrilled 1.18m (7.0%) at 9.15pm.
BBC Three's Bollywood Carmen Live attracted 582k (2.7%) at 9pm.
On ITV2, the final Britain's Got More Talent amused 733k (3.4%) at 9pm. The latest episode of The Only Way is Essex was the most-watched show on the multichannels with 942k (5.5%) at 10pm.
