Ratings roundup: 'MasterChef' continues with 4.5m on BBC One

The latest instalment of MasterChef picked up more than 4.5 million viewers last night on BBC One, according to overnight data.

The cooking show recovered from last week's slump opposite international football by taking 4.53m (19.1%) from 9pm.

MasterChef comfortably beat ITV1's Champions League football coverage, which grabbed 3.08m (13.5%).

On Channel 4, One Born Every Minute improved week-on-week to 3.1m (13.1%) in the 9pm hour (+1: 481k/2.8%). Gok Wan: Made in China had 1.93m (8.5%) earlier (+1: 247k/1%).

BBC Two stuck with its lineup of The Fisherman's Apprentice with Monty Halls (1.74m/7.6%) and Wonderland (1.44m/6.1%).

Channel 5's US import NCIS drew a decent 1.86m (7.8%), with Big Body Squad seen by 1.24m (5.5%) from 8pm.

Overall, BBC One comfortably secured primetime with 20% beating ITV1's 14.5% (+1: 0.4%). Channel 4 took third place with 8% (+1: 1.2%) ahead of BBC Two and Channel 5, which both attracted 5.9%.

Elsewhere, BBC Four's She Wolves: England's Early Queens topped the multichannel ratings with 989k (4.2%).
