Viewers are steadily switching off The Royal Variety Performance year-on-year if 2015's showcase of entertainment is anything to go by.
Jack Whitehall's hosting of this year's show attracted an average overnight audience of 5.31 million (24.3%) at 7.30pm on ITV (290k/1.5% on +1). This is down around 1.3m from last year and down 2m from 2013.
On BBC One, Capital bowed out with 3.35m (15.1%) at 9pm, staying level with last week.
BBC Two's MasterChef: The Professionals continued with 2.62m (11.8%) at 8pm, followed by the finale of The Great Pottery Throwdown with 2.11m (9.5%) at 9pm and Mock the Week with 1.10m (6.2%).
On Channel 4, Kirstie's Handmade Christmas appealed to 1.05m (4.7%) at 8pm (161k/0.7%), while 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown tickled 1.11m (5.0%) at 9pm (260k/1.6%).
