The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest averaged more than 6.6 million viewers, overnight figures indicate.
The music event, which saw Sweden's Måns Zelmerlöw come out on top, appealed to 6.64m (35.8%) from 8pm on BBC One.
The Eurovision coverage helped BBC One win primetime overall on the night, with a 29% share compared to ITV's 20.6%.
Despite suffering a large drop from last week, Britain's Got Talent still drew 7.41m (35.2%) on ITV and a further 295k (1.4%) on +1.
Elsewhere on ITV, Ninja Warrior UK continued with 3.9m (23.9%) and Play to the Whistle entertained 1.83m (8.9%).
BBC Two's coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show managed 1.15m (5.5%). An airing of the 2012 adaptation of Great Expectations followed with 764k (3.9%) from 9pm.
On Channel 4, The World's Most Extreme was watched by 579k (2.8%) during the 8pm hour, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes took 742k (3.8%).
The latest Big Brother highlights attracted 594k (2.9%) from 9.20pm. CSI intrigued 598k (3.5%) afterwards.
On the multichannels, Foyle's War averaged 798k (3.8%) on ITV3 and Britain's Got More Talent was enjoyed by 551k (2.7%) on ITV2.
