Scott & Bailey continues with 3.7 million viewers on ITV

Scott & Bailey continued with 3.7 million viewers on ITV last night (October 8), according to overnight figures.

The detective drama was watched by 3.71m (16.8%) in the 9pm hour, with a further 353k (2.3%) tuning in on +1.

Earlier on ITV, Celebrity Squares managed 2.23m (8.9%) from 8pm.

BBC One's Great British Bake Off final was the most-watched non-sporting TV event of year - averaging 12.3m (49%) from 8pm - before Our Zoo followed with 4.49m (20.3%).

On BBC Two, Long Shadow appealed to 639k (2.5%) and Horizon was seen by 1.6m (7.2%) from 9pm.

Channel 4's Sarah Beeny's Double Your House for Half the Money attracted 1.06m (4.2%) from 8pm. Afterwards, Grand Designs and True Stories were watched by 1.87m (8.5%) and 623k (4%) respectively.

On Channel 5, The Nightmare Neighbour Next Door was seen by 1.33m (5.3%) in the 8pm hour. Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away averaged 1.6m (7.2%) from 9pm, and Wentworth Prison had 712k (4.5%) from 10pm.

On the multichannels, Watch's The Strain managed 158k (1%) from 10pm.
