For the Love of Dogs appealed to an average audience of 4.32 million (20.4%) viewers at 8.30pm (170,000/0.9% on +1).
Later, the finale of Chasing Shadows was seen by 2.81m (14.2%) at 9pm (104k/0.7%).
On BBC One, Your Home in Their Hands attracted 2.83m (14.1%) at 8pm, followed by Reggie Yates's Who Do You Think You Are? with 3.64m (18.3%) at 9pm. Question Time intrigued 2.16m (21.0%) at 10.35pm.
BBC Two's Jungle Atlantis gathered 1.61m (8.0%) at 8pm, while Toby Jones movie Marvellous brought in 1.52m (8.1%) at 9pm.
Channel 4's Location, Location, Location entertained 1.50m (7.4%) at 8pm (239k/1.2%), followed by Educating the East End with 1.38m (7.0%) at 9pm (182k/1.2%) and Gordon Ramsay's Costa del Nightmares with 802k (5.4%) at 10pm (120k/1.5%).
On Channel 5, Armed & Dangerous interested 736k (3.7%) at 8pm, while Never Teach Your Wife to Drive was seen by 723k (3.6%) at 9pm.
ITV2's Celebrity Juice attracted 772k (5.0%) at 10pm (118k/1.4%).
