Wimbledon 2014: Novak Djokovic's win peaks at 9.8 million

The 2014 Wimbledon men's final attracted a peak audience of 9.86 million (54.3%) on Sunday, according to overnight figures.

Novak Djokovic's victory over Roger Federer scored an average 5.89m (38.6%) from 1.45pm on BBC One. This is down from last year's peak ratings of over 17m for Andy Murray's win.

Countryfile achieved the best average ratings with 6.72m (34.8%) at 7pm. Casualty brought in 5.12m (24.7%), while one-off Jimmy McGovern drama Common was seen by 4.39m (21.4%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, the British Grand Prix attracted an average score of 2.82m (22.6%) at 12pm. The Quest for Bannockburn continued with 1.26m (6.1%) at 8.15pm, followed by A Cabbie Abroad with 1.38m (6.5%) at 9.15pm.

On ITV, Despicable Me entertained 2.00m (10.1%) at 7pm (333,000/1.6% on +1), followed by The Nation's Favourite Motown Song with 2.13m (10.3%) at 9pm (190k/1.2%).

Channel 4's broadcast of Johnny English Reborn amused 1.44m (6.9%) at 8pm (441k/2.3%). Sean Lock's live show gathered 633k (3.7%) at 10pm (196k/2.2%).

On Channel 5, Rush Hour thrilled 797k (4.0%) at 7pm (126k/0.6%), followed by the latest Big Brother: Power Trip with 1.02m (4.8%) at 9pm (128k/0.7%).

ITV2's The Only Way Is Essex attracted 606k (3.4%) at 10pm (140k/1.5%).
