Without taking +1 into consideration, the average rating dropped by over 2.5 million viewers from last year's 10-year high, attracting 4.20m (18.4%) from 8pm.

A further 359k (1.8%) tuned in on +1, bringing its total to 4.56m. Its previous lowest-rated year was 2006 with 4.6m.

The drop in viewers may be due to the live Champions League coverage of Arsenal's loss to Bayern Munich, which scored 831k (3.6%) on Sky1 and 1.06m (4.7%) on Sky Sports 1.
