Mrs Brown's Boys tops Monday ratings with 8.7 million on BBC

Mrs Brown's Boys topped Monday (December 30) night's ratings, pulling in 8.71 million viewers, according to overnight data.

The New Year special 'Who's a Pretty Mammy?' was watched by 20.3% of the audience share when it aired on BBC One at 9.30pm.

The impressive ratings come after a festive edition of the Brendan O'Carroll comedy was the most-watched programme on Christmas Day this year.

Elsewhere on the channel, 4.67m (20.3%) tuned in to see famous faces including David Bradley and James Allen take on Celebrity Mastermind at 7pm, while a showing of fairytale movie Shrek Forever After attracted 3.79m (16%) straight afterwards at 7.30pm.

Over on BBC Two, Dad's Army drew in 2.02m (8.69%) at 7.30pm, followed by a special Christmas University Challenge at 8pm, which was seen by 2.3m (9.9%).

The channel's new series The Sacred Wonders of Britain kicked off with 2.36m (9.79%) viewers at 8.30pm.

Aside from soaps, ITV's primetime programming was taken up by 2008 Bond film Quantum of Solace. 3.97m (16.64%) tuned in to see Daniel Craig's second outing as the iconic spy at 8.30pm, with 448,000 (2.3%) watching an hour later on +1.

On Channel 4, Gok Wan's behind-the-scenes documentary Gok Does Panto was seen by 550k (2.37%) at 7.05pm, 1.02m (4.27%) were inspired by Jamie's Festive Feast and 970k (3.92%) tuned in to canine competition documentary Doggy Styling.

Eddie Stobart: Trucks & Trailers' festive compilation entertained 422k (1.79%) viewers on Channel 5 at 7.30pm, followed by World's Strongest Man at 8.30pm with 1.04m (4.36%). 958k (4.87%) watched a 9.30pm showing of Patrick Swayze's Dirty Dancing.

On BBC Three, Raiders of the Lost Ark brought in 723k (3.14%) at 9pm, while a showing of Love Actually attracted 646k to ITV2 in the same timeslot.

Made in Chelsea's series six End of Season Party, hosted by Rick Edwards, was watched by 367k (1.85%) on E4 at 10pm.
