Paul O'Grady's 'For the Love of Dogs' tops Thursday ratings

Paul O'Grady's For the Love of Dogs continued to prove popular for ITV on Thursday, overnight data confirms.

The final episode of the current series topped the ratings outside of soaps with 4.75 million viewers (23.6%) at 8.30pm, with a further 259,000 (1.3%) tuning in on +1.

Happy Families also came to an end with 1.84m (9.2%) at 9pm (120k/0.7% on +1).

BBC One's new Gregg Wallace series Supermarket Secrets launched with 3.75m (18.7%) at 8pm. Later, Question Time featuring the newly-knighted Tony Robinson interested 2.59m (21.3%) at 10.35pm.

On BBC Two, Today at Wimbledon's coverage of the women's semi-finals scored 1.63m (8.1%) at 8pm. Who Were the Greeks?'s second episode was seen by 1.69m (8.5%) at 9pm, followed by Mock the Week with 1.60m (8.8%) at 10pm.

Channel 4's repeat of Supersize vs Superskinny gathered 757k (3.8%) at 8pm (128k/0.6%). First Dates continued with 781k (3.9%) at 9pm (143k/0.8%), while Eye Spy entertained 624k (3.7%) at 10pm (142k/1.5%).

On Channel 5, Cowboy Traders secured 909k (4.5%) at 8pm, followed by the latest Extraordinary People with 1.44m (7.2%) at 9pm (113k/0.7%).

Big Brother climbed to 1.46m (8.4%) at 10pm, while Bit on the Side brought in 597k (6.1%) at 11pm.

On BBC Three, Russell Howard's Good News entertained 563k (2.8%) at 9pm.

E4's latest episode of The Big Bang Theory amused 1.31m (6.5%) at 8pm (425k/2.1%), followed by How I Met Your Mother with 685k (3.4%) at 8.30pm (240k/1.2%).
