Who Do You Think You Are? topped the highly competitive 9pm hour with 4.31m (18.9%), pipping ITV1 drama Mrs Biggs which climbed to 4.08m (17.8%) - 333k (2%) caught up on +1.

Meanwhile, Grand Designs interested 2.06m (9.4%) on Channel 4 (+1: 434k/2.7%), and 943k (4.1%) watched BBC Two funeral documentary Dead Good Job.

BBC Two's best figures appeared earlier on with Celebrity MasterChef, which served up an average of 1.6m (8.2%) at 7pm.

During the 8pm hour, Watchdog won 4.75m (21.4%) for BBC One, while All Star Mr & Mrs entertained 4.18m (18.9%) and 158k (0.7%) on +1.

Much aided by its 7pm hour soap block, ITV1 just beat BBC One in primetime with 19.9% (+1: 1%) versus 19.5%. Channel 4 earned third place with 7% (+1: 1.2%), and was comfortably ahead of BBC Two's 4.6% and Channel 5's 3.9% (+1: 0.3%).

Earlier in the day, ITV's The Chase led the teatime ratings battle over BBC One's Pointless with 2.35m (18.9%) against 2.06m (15.5%). The Chase, which is performing even better on Sunday evenings, added 251k (1.5%) on ITV1 +1.
