England's Euro win over Sweden seen by 16.3m at peak

England's 3-2 victory over Sweden has become the most-watched match of Euro 2012 so far in the UK, overnight figures confirm.

BBC One's coverage yesterday (June 15) between 7.30pm and 10.15pm averaged 10.96m (45.1%), with a peak of 16.3m tuning in at around 9.30pm as England regained their lead.

Over on ITV1, the delayed match between France and Ukraine scored 4.56m (26.5%) between 6.30pm and 8pm, after which a Lewis repeat mustered 1.74m (17.4%) and 148k (0.9%) on +1.

Meanwhile, The Graham Norton Show capped a strong evening for BBC One with 3.77m (25.9%) at 10.45pm.

Channel 4's Million Pound Drop Live returned for a new run with 984k (3.7%) from 8.30pm (+1: 157k/0.7%), before 1.19m (5.6%) watched 8 Out of 10 Cats at 10pm (+1: 117k/0.9%).

Big Brother's second eviction show grabbed 1.5m (7.3%) for Channel 5 at 10pm, and 558k (4.6%) stayed for Big Brother's Bit on the Side an hour later.

Antiques Road Trip was BBC Two's best-rated programme with 2.03m (9.7%) at 7pm, while Episodes amused 871k (4%) at 10pm.

Overall, BBC One obliterated ITV1 in primetime with 42.2% versus 13.1% (+1: 0.3%). BBC Two claimed third place with 5.8%, ahead of Channel 5's 4.2% (+1: 0.2%), and Channel 4's 3.9% (+1: 0.6%).

Russell Howard's Good News Extra appealed to 633k (3%) on BBC Three at 10pm, and was primetime's biggest multichannel show.
