Hidden fends off 'Joanna Lumley's Greek Odyssey' in ratings

BBC One's drama Hidden lost viewers on Thursday evening, but still outperformed Joanna Lumley's Greek Odyssey on ITV1, the latest audience data has shown.

Hidden, starring Philip Glenister as down-on-his luck solicitor Harry Venn, was seen by 4.25m (19%) on BBC One in the 9pm slot, down by almost 1m viewers week-on-week.

However, the drama proved too strong for Joanna Lumley's Greek Odyssey, which premiered with 3.64m (16.3%) on ITV1 in the 9pm hour and 199k (1.1%) on +1.

Watchdog was seen by 4.59m (19.9%) on BBC One in the 8pm hour, and Question Time quizzed 2.61m (20.3%) from 10.45pm.

Country House Rescue built 1.13m (4.9%) on Channel 4 in the 8pm slot and 237k (1.1%) on +1. Educating Essex educated 1.66m (7.4%) and 219k (1.2%) on timeshift. Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares served up 920k (5.2%) from 10pm, and 194 (2.1%) on +1.

A History of Ancient Britain had 1.41m (6.8%) on BBC Two in the 7pm hour, before The Great British Bakeoff Masterclass served up 1.95m (8.4%) from 8pm and Mixed Britannia took 1.15m (5.2%) from 9pm. Mock The Week amused 1.82m (9.2%) from 10pm.

Channel 5's How Do They Do It? mustered 500k (2.3%) from 7.30pm, before The True Story delighted 980k (4.3%) in the 8pm slot. Extraordinary People fetched 1.12m (5%) from 9pm.

Afterwards, Big Brother entertained 1.39m (7.8%) from 10pm and spinoff Big Brother's Bit On The Side had 535k (5.6%) from 11pm.

Overall, BBC One edged primetime with 22.2% against ITV1's 19.7% (+1: 0.7%). BBC Two ranked in third with 6.8%, ahead of Channel 4 with 5.1% (+1: 0.8%) and Channel 5 with 4.6%.

Elsewhere, comedy panel show Celebrity Juice amused 1.36m (7.2%) from 10pm and 265k (2.5%) on timeshift. Meanwhile, the new series of House took 208k (1.2%) on Sky1.

Junior Doctors captivated 615k (2.8%) on BBC Three from 9pm, and Lee Nelson's Well Good Show entertained 486k (3.1%) from 10.30pm. Shock and Awe: The Story of Electricity electrified 507k (2.3%) on BBC Four in the 9pm slot.
