Jurassic World retains lead at UK box office

Jurassic World has fought off competition from Take That to retain the number one spot at the UK box office, with takings of £11.1 million.


The Chris Pratt-starring dinosaur movie has now earned £38.5 million in the UK alone in its first two weeks of release, smashing cinema records across the world in the process.

Take That's live show from The O2 in London is at number two, after taking £965,000 at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Spy dips to three with £922,399 and Sir Ian McKellen's Mr Holmes is a new entry at four with takings of £741,080.

Entourage is another new entry and rounds out the top five with £632,754.

Elsewhere at the UK box office, The Longest Ride is a new entry at seven, while The Empire Strikes Back remains in the top ten thanks to Secret Cinema.
