According to The Village Voice, she was the inspiration for baby June in the Broadway musical Gypsy, based on the life of her sister Gypsy Rose Lee.

Born in Vancouver, Havoc first garnered popularity as a 2-year-old vaudeville performer known as "Dainty June the darling of vaudeville".

After appearing in 22 Broadway plays, she became a member of the Theatre Hall of Fame and a double honouree on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as the star of several silent films.

The star wrote two widely read autobiographies, including Early Havoc and More Havoc.

June was also the inspiration for the movie title "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"
