Captain America: The Winter Soldier has returned to the top of the UK box office.

Marvel's sequel earned £1.78 million to leapfrog Noah and Rio 2 on its third weekend on release.

The Winter Soldier has now pulled in £14.6 million from its UK cinema run, up on the £9.5 haul taken by predecessor The First Avenger in 2011.

Divergent held its place at number four, while The Quiet Ones is a new entry at number five.

Elsewhere, the chart saw new releases Calvary and The Raid 2 debut at numbers seven and eight respectively.

The highest-earning film in the top ten is The Lego Movie, which took its UK total to £32.5 million after adding £196,050 to its tally last weekend.
