Brad Pitt's zombie blockbuster World War Z drops down a place to number four, while Man of Steel completes the top five.
The Superman reboot, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Russell Crowe, has now earned more than £28 million from UK screens.
Elsewhere, the chart sees new entries from Sofia Coppola's latest film The Bling Ring and Bollywood titles Lootera and Singam II. The latter delivered an impressive £4,700 location average from its 14 cinema venues.
