Birmingham cinema screens violent trailers for toddlers...

Parents and children got the shock of their lives when they were accidentally shown violent trailers for 'Django Unchained', 'A Good Day to Die Hard' and 'Iron Man 3' before the Disney film they paid to see started.



The incident happened at the 11am screening of Disney/Pixar's 'Brave' at Birmingham's Giant Screen cinema which was packed thanks to a special offer price of 50p.

But instead of trailers for PG-rated films, the cinema showed trailers for Tarantino's super-violent slavery-set spaghetti western along with Bruce Willis' return as John McClane and Marvel's superhero threequel.

Mother-of-two Melissa Coombs told the Mail Online : 'The trailers were for Django Unchained, Die Hard 5 and Iron Man so obviously our children looked horrified because they are three and six."

"As it is such a big screen there was nowhere to hide. A lot of parents took their children out of the room."

A spokesperson for the cinema said: "This unfortunately meant that the trailers shown in advance of the film were certified suitable for older audiences aged 12 and 15."

"Following the screening, the visitor services manager met concerned parents in the exit foyer to apologise. Immediate action has been taken to strengthen the procedures in place."
