'Avatar' holds strong at US box office

Avatar has continued to dominate at the top of the US box office for a fifth consecutive week, taking in more than $41.3 million.


Debuting at number two is the Denzel Washington post-apocalyptic film The Book Of Eli with $31.6 million and the action movie The Spy Next Door, starring Jackie Chan.

The Peter Jackson-directed drama The Lovely Bones makes a strong first-time appearance on the top ten at number three, with $17 million after six weeks in release.

Slipping to the tenth position is Jason Reitman's dramedy Up In The Air, starring George Clooney, with $5.4 million.
