Over three days The East Winds Film Festival will give people the chance to see nine major films, of which some are UK and European premieres.

There will also be Q & A sessions with directors and a chance to meet celebrity guests from the world of East Asian film.

The festival from March 2-4 at Coventry University’s Ellen Terry building - once an Odeon cinema- has been organised by the Coventry University East Asian Film Society.

Spencer Murphy, the society’s founder and lecturer in Film and Visual Culture, said: “The films produced in East Asia over the past decade have galvanised international cinema with their originality and vitality.

“This festival aims to raise awareness of East Asian cinema, while encouraging the younger generation to embrace different kinds of film.”

This year’s guests include Japanese writer and director Miki Satoshi, actress Eri Fuse and legendary Hong Kong director Herman Yau.

Tickets start at £6 for members of the public and £4 for students.
