Coronation Street brings in 7.5m with Carla and Nick crisis

Coronation Street topped Monday's ratings (January 11) with Carla and Nick's relationship drama, overnight figures show.

7.49m (33.8%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 145k (0.6%) on +1 as Carla told Nick that she couldn't marry him, while 7.35m (31.9%) returned at 8.30pm and 147k (0.6%) on +1 as Nick fought for their future and begged Carla to change her mind.

EastEnders was close in second spot, bringing in 7.26m (31.2%) at 8pm on BBC One as Martin managed to talk Stacey down from the roof of the Queen Vic. BBC Three's repeat secured 393k (2.2%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale attracted 6.37m (30.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 120k (0.5%) on +1 as Pete made a move on Moira - his own aunty.

Hollyoaks interested 858k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ben continued to investigate Patrick's death (+1: 25k / 0.1%), while E4's first look followed with 514k (2.4%) at 7pm (+1: 98k / 0.4%).

Neighbours continued to perform well, entertaining 803k (10.5%) at 1.45pm and 823k (5.0%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Terese worried about the spark between Tyler and Piper.

Home and Away returned from its transmission break on Channel 5 with 260k (3.4%) at 1.15pm, 593k (3.2%) at 6pm and 299k (1.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
