Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on New Year's Eve, overnight figures show.
The Weatherfield drama pulled in 5.69m (29.7%) at 8pm on ITV and 167k (1.0%) on +1 as the arrival of 2016 saw surprise kisses between Aidan and Eva and Kevin and Anna.
Emmerdale wasn't too far behind, claiming 5.23m (26.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 103k (0.6%) on +1 as an hour-long episode saw Robert confront Ross with a gun.
Hollyoaks attracted 696k (3.8%) at the earlier time of 5.35pm on Channel 4 as the show's own hour-long episode saw Freddie Roscoe return to our screens (+1: 64k / 0.3%).
E4's first look screening of Hollyoaks followed with 353k (1.8%) at 6.35pm and 112k (0.6%) on +1.
