Coronation Street was the most-watched programme on Bank Holiday Monday (December 28), overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap pulled in 7.04m (31.4%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 121k (0.5%) on +1 as Johnny decided to reveal his big secret to Carla, while 6.95m (30.0%) returned for the fallout at 8.30pm with a further 240k (1.1%) on +1.

EastEnders wasn't far behind its ITV rival, claiming 6.74m (29.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Shirley finally saw Dean's true colours. BBC Three's repeat added 359k (1.8%) at 10pm.

Hollyoaks aired to 832k (3.9%) at 6.35pm on Channel 4 with the fallout from Ziggy's death (+1: 31k / 0.1%), while E4's first look followed with 460k (2.1%) at 7pm (+1: 90k / 0.4%).
