EastEnders brings in 5.9m on Thursday night

EastEnders topped Thursday's soap ratings (December 3) as Carmel made a shocking discovery, overnight figures show.

5.9m (30.2%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Carmel realised that her son Kush was the father of Stacey's baby. BBC Three's repeat added 355k (2.0%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale brought in 5.78m (30.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 121k (0.6%) on +1 as Chrissie's fate was revealed in court, while 5.71m (27.2%) returned at 8pm and 151k (0.7%) on +1 as Pollard suffered some more nasty shocks.

Hollyoaks aired to 800k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Nico discovered Holly's affair with Robbie (+1: 45k (0.2%), while E4's first look drew in 513k (2.7%) at 7pm and 126k (0.6%) on +1.

Doctors continued with 1.4m (19.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Mrs Tembe received some bad news on returning to work.

Neighbours interested 726k (10.0%)at 1.45pm and 657k (4.4%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Paul continued to plot against Steph.

Home and Away managed 250k (3.5%) at 1.15pm and 553k (3.2%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 409k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.
