Coronation Street was Wednesday's most-watched soap (December 2) with Sarah Platt being hit by even more drama, overnight figures show.

6.5m (30.9%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 134k (0.6%) on +1 as an hour-long episode saw Sarah learn that she was pregnant, shortly after being run over by Tim's van.

Emmerdale attracted 5.91m (30.5%) at 7pm on ITV and and 73k (0.3%) on +1 as Eric plotted revenge against Chrissie.

Hollyoaks entertained 836k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Holly was targeted by a sinister enemy (+1: 73k / 0.4%), while E4's first look followed with 526k (2.7%) at 7pm and 152k (0.7%) on +1.

Neighbours aired to 756k (11.0%) at 1.45pm and 640k (4.2%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Kyle infuriated Shay by ending their fling.

Doctors continued with 1.26m (18.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Mrs Tembe grew increasingly concerned about Valerie's absences.

Home and Away mustered 311k (4.5%) at 1.15pm and 592k (3.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 411k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.
