Emmerdale tops Tuesday's soap figures with 6.2m

Emmerdale topped Tuesday's soap ratings (November 17) as Jai Sharma's scheming continued, overnight figures show.

6.16m (31.0%) tuned in at 7pm on ITV and 107k (0.5%) on +1 as Jai tried to blackmail Tanya by making her believe that she'd cheated on Nikhil.

Neighbours also had a strong day as its lunchtime rating rose further, bringing in 870k (11.2%) at 1.45pm on Channel 5 as Mark managed to anger both of his brothers. This was the show's best 1.45pm figure since October 2013.

Later, Neighbours' teatime screening entertained 657k (4.1%) at 5.30pm, while 5*'s 6pm repeat had 105k (0.6%).

EastEnders dipped slightly due to airing against the pre-match coverage of the England vs France game. The show attracted 5.57m (26.2%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ronnie spiked Dean's drink in her latest revenge plan, while BBC Three's repeat added 322k (3.5%) at the later time of 11pm.

Holby City was also dented by the football, managing 3.64m (15.8%) at 8pm on BBC One as Cara found herself in a tricky situation.

Hollyoaks aired to 756k (3.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Harry exposed Pete's true colours at the villain's wedding to Reenie (+1: 71k / 0.3%). E4's first look topped the multichannels with 635k (3.2%) at 7pm and 120k (0.5%) on +1.

Doctors continued with 1.5m (19.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Ruhma and Heston went out for dinner together.

Home and Away mustered 294k (3.7%) at 1.15pm and 590k (3.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 388k (2.0%) at 6.30pm.
