Coronation Street brings in 7.2m with Tony's proposal to Liz

Coronation Street topped Monday's soap ratings (November 16) with Liz McDonald's revenge against Tony Stewart, overnight figures show.

7.18m (33.3%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 116k (0.5%) on +1 as Tony tried his luck by proposing to Liz following their reunion. 7.12m (31.5%) returned at 8.30pm and 132k (0.6%) on +1 as a surprise twist saw Liz reveal that she'd been playing Tony all along to get his share of The Rovers back.

EastEnders attracted 6.54m (29.1%) at 8pm on BBC One as Dean continued to play with fire by winding up Ronnie. BBC Three's repeat added 295k (1.7%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.06m (30.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 117k (0.5%) on +1 as Jai launched a twisted scheme against Nikhil's new girlfriend Tanya.

Hollyoaks aired to 837k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Cleo finally saw Pete's true colours when he turned nasty (+1: 64k / 0.3%), while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel figures after rising to 714k (3.5%) at 7pm and 153k (0.7%) on +1.

Neighbours' lunchtime screening was the most-watched show of the whole day on Channel 5, claiming 841k (11.9%) at 1.45pm as Brad was drawn back to unwell Terese. 744k (4.7%) caught the teatime airing at 5.30pm.

Doctors continued with 1.58m (22.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Emma had another tense meeting with Amelia.

Home and Away managed 270k (3.9%) at 1.15pm and 591k (3.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look claimed 425k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.
