Neighbours lunchtime editon hits two-year ratings high

Neighbours hit an impressive two-year high with its lunchtime rating on Monday (November 9), overnight figures show.


The long-running Australian soap continued its recent run of strong performances in the early slot, as 864k (12.3%) tuned in at 1.45pm on Channel 5 to see the aftermath of the recent fire at Erinsborough High. This was the show's best lunchtime figure since October 16, 2013 - when the Robbo murder mystery was resolved.

772k (4.8%) caught Neighbours' teatime screening at 5.30pm, while 5*'s 6pm repeat also did well with 116k (0.6%).

Coronation Street was the most-watched programme of the day, claiming 7.49m (34.7%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 127k (0.6%) on +1 as Kylie continued to struggle with the thought of Callum being buried underneath the Platt house. 6.87m (30.3%) returned at 8.30pm and 139k (0.7%) on +1 to see David continue to cover their tracks by lying to Gail that Kylie is back on drugs.

EastEnders attracted 6.49m (28.5%) at 8pm on BBC One as Ronnie plotted to put Dean out of business. BBC Three's repeat added 338k (2.0%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.28m (31.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 216k (0.9%) on +1 as tensions ran high when Aaron gave his plea in court.

Hollyoaks entertained 845k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Lindsey hatched a plan to frame Trevor for her Gloved Hand Killer crimes (+1: 61k / 0.3%). E4's first look followed with 634k (3.2%) at 7pm and 102k (0.4%) on +1.

Doctors appealed to 1.45m (20.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Heston and Ruhma vowed to forget about their kiss.

Home and Away also saw a rise at lunchtime, airing to 324k (4.4%) at 1.15pm on Channel 5 with Denny's shock death. 661k (3.6%) saw the teatime screening at 6pm, while 5*'s first look was boosted to 546k (2.8%) at 6.30pm.
