Coronation Street claims 6.7m with Tony and Steve's tension

Coronation Street​ easily topped the ratings on Wednesday (November 4) with tensions at the Rovers Return, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap brought in 6.7m (33.3%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 234k (1.1%) on +1 as Tony's presence at the pub left Steve furious, fearing that his mum would reunite with the love cheat.

​Emmerdale​ attracted 6.02m (31.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 185k (0.9%) on +1 as Paddy was shocked to discover that Tess is Leo's new teaching assistant.

​Hollyoaks​ had 740k (4.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 104k (0.5%) on +1 as Mercedes received the devastating news that her unborn baby had died. E4's first look followed with 623k (3.3%) at 7pm and 148k (0.7%) on +1.

Doctors​ continued with 1.36m (21.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Mrs Tembe and Ayesha clashed once again.

Neighbours​ entertained 727k (11.2%) at 1.45pm and 617k (4.1%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as the fire drama at Erinsborough High continued.

​Home and Away​ mustered 227k (3.4%) at 1.15pm and 538k (3.1%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look followed with 412k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.
