Coronation Street claims 7.4m on Monday with Alya aftermath

Coronation Street topped Monday's ratings (November 2) with the continued fallout from Alya Nazir's infidelity, overnight figures show.

7.38m (34.7%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 161k (0.7%) on +1 as Alya continued to face the music following the big reveal of her secret, while 6.86m (30.9%) were tempted back at 8.30pm with 143k (0.6%) on +1 for the Nazirs' struggle to forgive Alya.

EastEnders rose to its best figure since July 27 as 6.66m (30.3%) saw the fallout from Gavin's revelation at 8pm on BBC One. BBC Three's repeat added 418k (2.5%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale also continued to rise, bringing in 6.41m (31.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 107k (0.5%) on +1 as Jai's family were shocked to learn that he'd been admitted to hospital.

Hollyoaks' week got off to a decent start too, as 898k (4.6%) saw Patrick turn against Maxine at 6.30pm on Channel 4 (+1: 37k / 0.2%). E4's first look followed with a strong 709k (3.5%) at 7pm (+1: 67k / 0.3%).

Neighbours entertained 786k (11.6%) at 1.45pm and 707k (4.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 with the start of the Erinsborough High fire week.

Doctors interested 1.36m (20.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Ruhma was finally offered a position at The Mill.

Home and Away appealed to 177k (2.6%) at 1.15pm and 586k (3.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 394k (2.0%) at 6.30pm.
