Coronation Street topped Wednesday's ratings (October 28) with Tyrone's financial problems, overnight figures show.

6.7m (32.6%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 193k (0.9%) on +1 as Tyrone confided in Kevin about how booking the family trip to Lapland had landed him in a mess.

Emmerdale was back above the 6 million mark, claiming 6.19m (32.5%) at 7pm on ITV and 126k (0.6%) on +1 as a troubled Ross turned back to Debbie.

Hollyoaks attracted 766k (4.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Peri confided in Cameron about her predicament (+1: 47k / 0.2%), while E4's first look followed with 567k (3.0%) at 7pm and 151k (0.7%) on +1.

Neighbours aired to 724k (10.2%) at 1.45pm and 719k (4.9%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Jimmy was found by Steph.

Doctors continued with 1.38m (19.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One for the ongoing fallout from Howard's tragic demise.

Home and Away entertained 141k (1.9%) at 1.15pm and 601k (3.5%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look secured 400k (2.1%) at 6.30pm with Ed Sheeran's guest appearance.
