Thursday Emmerdale rises to best viewing figure since August

Emmerdale topped the ratings on Thursday (October 22) with the big reveal of who shot Robert Sugden, overnight figures show.

6.15m (31.9%) tuned in at 7pm on ITV and 110k (0.5%) on +1 as the whodunit mystery continued with some final last-minute intrigue. The audience increased to 6.24m (29.3%) at 8pm and 188k (0.9%) on +1 as an hour-long 'rewind' episode showed that Ross Barton was the culprit - the show's best rating since August 10.

EastEnders attracted 5.87m (29.4%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Kathy decided to head to the police station. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 331k (2.0%) at 10pm.

Hollyoaks aired to 787k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Lindsey Butterfield was revealed as the Gloved Hand Killer (+1: 64k / 0.3%).

Another shock Hollyoaks storyline twist was seen by 772k (4.0%) on E4's first look at 7pm and 90k (0.4%) on +1, while episode four of Hollyoaks Does Come Dine with Me followed with 393k (2.0%) at 7.30pm (+1: 67k / 0.3%).

Neighbours interested 679k (10.7%) at 1.45pm and 684k (4.8%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Harold's was trashed in an act of revenge against Lauren.

Doctors was seen by 1.26m (19.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Emma was hit by a double tragedy in a shocking turn of events.

Home and Away appealed to 212k (3.2%) at 1.15pm and 560k (3.5%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 403k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.
