EastEnders topped Tuesday's ratings (October 20) with Ian Beale's bombshell for Kathy, overnight figures show.

6.41m (32.7%) tuned in at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ian shocked his mum by revealing that Bobby killed Lucy. BBC Three's repeat added 437k (2.7%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale attracted 5.92m (31.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 142k (0.7%) on +1 as Cain tried his best to shift suspicion in the Robert shooting mystery.

Holby City had 4.35m (21.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Cara had to witness the birth of her husband's child.

Hollyoaks grabbed 880k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 103k (0.5%) on +1 as the Gloved Hand Killer murdered Dr S'Avage and the Roscoe brothers faced a deadly situation.

E4's first look Hollyoaks screening topped the multichannels again with 642k (3.4%) at 7pm and 146k (0.7%) on +1, while episode two of Hollyoaks Does Come Dine with Me followed with 387k (2.0%) at 7.30pm and 141k (0.7%) on +1.

Neighbours entertained 691k (12.4%) at 1.45pm and 596k (4.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 with the fallout from Steph Scully's return.

Home and Away mustered 224k (3.9%) at 1.15pm and 509k (3.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5 as Leah and Zac continued to clash, while 5*'s first look had 374k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.06m (19.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
