Coronation Street tops Friday with Sarah's troubles

Coronation Street topped Friday's ratings (October 16) with Sarah Platt's ongoing struggles, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap brought in 6.43m (32.8%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 136k (0.7%) on +1 as Sarah's behaviour aroused concern in the continued fallout from Callum's death, while 6.03m (29.1%) returned at 8.30pm and 184k (0.9%) on +1 as Billy urged Sarah to open up over her problems.

EastEnders attracted 5.76m (28.5%) at 8pm on BBC One as Donna's discovery left her with a difficult dilemma. BBC Three's repeat added 257k (1.5%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale interested 5.51m (30.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 159k (0.8%) on +1 as Chas realised that someone was targeting her.

Doctors aired to 1.43m (21.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Howard and Emma's date didn't go to plan.

Hollyoaks appealed to 738k (4.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sienna and Nico were kidnapped (+1: 81k / 0.4%), while E4's first look grabbed 472k (2.6%) at 7pm and 123k (0.6%) on +1 as the Gloved Hand Killer struck again.

Neighbours took 607k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 735k (5.1%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Imogen and Paige clashed amid their ongoing family troubles.

Home and Away managed 165k (2.4%) at 1.15pm and 587k (3.6%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 372k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
