EastEnders is top on Monday with 6.1m for Kathy story

EastEnders topped Monday's ratings (October 12) with the continued fallout from Kathy Beale's return, overnight figures show.


The Walford soap held up well against the Lithuania vs. England game, bringing in 6.06m (27.6%) at 8pm on BBC One as Kathy told Ben that Gavin has taken Phil hostage. BBC Three's repeat also put in a strong showing with 519k (3.3%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale managed 5.32m (27.8%) at the earlier time of 6.45pm on ITV as Jai's cocaine use finally took its toll on his health, adding 267k (1.3%) on +1 an hour later.

Hollyoaks attracted 773k (4.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 122k (0.6%) on +1 as Lindsey and Freddie infuriated Kim by asking her to move out, while E4's first look followed with 546k (3.0%) at 7pm (+1: 97k / 0.4%).

Neighbours entertained 644k (10.1%) at 1.45pm and 671k (4.8%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Lauren offered to let Brad move in.

Doctors continued with 1.25m (19.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Emma decided to keep the baby.

Home and Away grabbed 195k (3.0%) at 1.15pm and 474k (2.9%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 279k (1.5%) at 6.30pm.
