Coronation Street topped Wednesday's soap ratings (September 16) as Callum's bad behaviour left Max in jeopardy, overnight figures show.

6.65m (34.3%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 298k (1.3%) on +1 as another big showdown between Callum and the Platts led to Max running straight into the path of Nick's car.

Emmerdale attracted 5.54m (31.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 253k (1.1%) on +1 as Pete confronted Ross over his secret plan to kill him.

Hollyoaks was back up to 804k (4.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Lisa was revealed as an impostor (+1: 40k / 0.2%), while a first look at the Loveday family's flashback episode aired to 539k (3.1%) at 7pm on E4 and 103k (0.5%) an hour later on +1.

Doctors interested 1.4m (22.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Al hoped to get his new diagnosing invention off the ground.

Neighbours grabbed 642k (10.1%) at 1.45pm and 652k (5.0%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 with the continued fallout from Brad and Lauren's infidelity.

Home and Away mustered 237k (3.5%) at 1.15pm and 506k (3.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look followed with 341k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
