Coronation Street remained on top of the ratings on Friday (September 11) with the latest drama between the Platts and Callum, overnight figures show.

6.46m (34.6%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 196k (0.9%) on +1 as Callum collected a frightened Max from school, while 6.31m (29.8%) returned at 8.30pm and 246k (1.2%) on +1 as the bad boy demanded £20,000 in exchange for leaving the Platts alone once and for all.

EastEnders attracted 5.69m (29.2%) at 8pm on BBC One with Kathy's return to Walford and Tracey the Barmaid's rare chance to shine with a storyline. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 335k (2.0%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale interested 5.29m (31.5%) at 7pm on ITV and 160k (0.8%) on +1 with Vanessa's premature labour.

Hollyoaks rose to its highest figure of the week as 836k (5.5%) watched Wayne return to confront Lisa at 6.30pm on Channel 4 (+1: 49k / 0.3%), while E4's first look had 417k (2.5%) at 7pm and 100k (0.5%) on +1.

Neighbours put in another strong lunchtime showing as Kyle's heartbreak over Georgia brought in 719k (12.0%) at 1.45pm on Channel 5, while 621k (5.0%) saw the teatime airing at 5.30pm.

Doctors appealed to 1.22m (20.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One with the fallout from the events of the 3,000th episode.

Home and Away managed 244k (4.0%) at 1.15pm and 487k (3.5%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 321k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
