EastEnders rose to its best rating in six weeks on Monday (September 7) with Dot Branning's return to Albert Square, overnight figures show.6.58m (31.2%) tuned in at 8pm on BBC One as Dot's release from prison made a big impact on Ian, the highest-rated episode since July 27. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 332k (2.0%) at 10pm.
Coronation Street was the most-watched show of the day, attracting 6.76m (34.6%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 114k (0.5%) on +1 as Carla's guilt over the fire escalated. The audience increased to 6.91m (32.4%) at 8.30pm as Tracy finally confessed her guilt to Carla (+1: 93k / 0.4%).
Emmerdale brought in 5.68m (32.1%) at 7pm on ITV and 147k (0.7%) on +1 as Bob faced his big day in court.
