Coronation Street came out on top in the soap ratings once again, as Tyrone and Fiz's clash brought in an overnight audience of over 6 million viewers.

The ITV soap was seen by an average audience of 6.12m (29.4%) at 8pm, with a further 259,000 (1.2%) watching on +1.

Emmerdale's hour-long episode attracted 5.59m (28.4%) at 7pm (180k/0.9% on +1), as Lawrence struggled to prove his innocence over his assault claims.

EastEnders came third on the night with 4.45m (21.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One, as Shirley uncovered Aunt Babe's big secret. 666k (4.1%) watched the repeat on BBC Three at 10pm.

On Channel 4, Hollyoaks continued with 753k (4.3%) at 6.30pm as viewers saw Ste and a shirtless Harry grow closer. E4's first-look episode brought in 569k (3.1%) at 7pm.

Earlier, BBC One's Doctors appealed to 1.35m (20.2%) at 1.45pm.

On Channel 5, Home and Away entertained 206k (3.0%) at 1.15pm and 444k (2.7%) at 6pm, while its first-look on 5* was seen by 313k (1.8%) at 6.30pm. Neighbours gathered 720k (10.7%) at 1.45pm and 665k (4.9%) at 5.30pm.
