Coronation Street came out on top of the soap ratings on Wednesday evening, according to overnight figures.The ITV soap brought in an average of 6.85 million (34.4%) viewers at 7.30pm, with an added 240,000 (1.0%) on +1, as Tyrone and Fiz were given devastating news.
Earlier, Emmerdale continued with 5.81m (32.3%) at 7pm (149k/0.7%), as viewers saw Lawrence get falsely accused of assault.
On Channel 4, Peri faced her final choice over the baby in Hollyoaks, with 712k (4.3%) tuning in at 6.30pm. 554k (3.1%) watched E4's first-look at 7pm (103k/0.5%)
Earlier, Doctors attracted 1.54m (23.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
Channel 5's Home and Away was seen by 207k (3.1%) at 1.15pm and 467k (3.1%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look gathered 287k (1.7%) at 6.30pm. Neighbours appealed to 647k (9.8%) at 1.45pm and 550k (4.3%) at 5.30pm.
