Emmerdale easily came out on top in the soap ratings on Tuesday, overnight data has shown.Val's funeral was seen by an average 5.61 million viewers (29.0%) at 7pm on ITV, with a further 223,000 (1.1%) tuning in on +1.
EastEnders continued with 4.56m (22.2%) at 7.30pm on BBC One, as Shabnam vowed to leave after her stillborn child's funeral. Its repeat episode was seen by 885k (5.1%) at 10pm on BBC Three.
It was beaten by Holby City, which brought in 4.72m (23.5%) at 8pm.
On Channel 4, Hollyoaks attracted 816k (4.8%) at 6.30pm (103k/0.5%) as Peri gave birth at Hollyoaks High. E4's first-look appealed to 655k (3.6%) at 7pm (150k/0.8%).
Earlier, Doctors was seen by 1.33m (18.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One. On Channel 5, Neighbours continued with 608k (8.5%) at 1.45pm and 733k (5.4%) at 5.30pm.
Home and Away interested 216k (2.9%) at 1.15pm and 530k (3.4%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look gathered 357k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
