Jason's story brings 6.6m to extra Coronation Street episode

Coronation Street topped the ratings yesterday (August 27) with another bonus Thursday episode, overnight figures show.

6.57m (32.9%) tuned in at 8pm on ITV and 330k (1.6%) on +1 as Jason's health remained a cause for concern following his attack, causing Tony's anger to grow.

Emmerdale attracted 5.61m (30.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 290k (1.5%) on +1 as the show's latest hour-long episode saw Ross and Pete finally come face-to-face again.

EastEnders was once again dented by the Emmerdale clash but pulled in an identical figure to Tuesday's head-to-head, claiming 4.45m (22.0%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Shabnam revealed that her unborn baby had stopped moving.

During the 30-minute clash period itself, Emmerdale had 5.66m (28.1%). BBC Three's EastEnders repeat screening secured 578k (3.5%) at 10pm.

Hollyoaks interested 711k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the aftermath of Dylan's Gloved Hand Killer murder (+1: 70k / 0.3%), while E4's first look followed with 524k (3.0%) at 7pm and 147k (0.7%) on +1.

Neighbours entertained 586k (7.8%) at 1.45pm and 679k (5.7%) at 5.30pm as Sonya came close to the truth about the accident.

Doctors appealed to 1.14m (15.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Rob told Karen the truth about his current predicament.

Home and Away aired to 254k (3.5%) at 1.15pm and 572k (4.0%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 318k (2.0%) at 6.30pm.
